Genocide:
Genocide to me means the Killing of Innocent people in order to control their ways of life, Mainly caused by Disputes against Ethnic Groups.
The genocide of Darfur happened mainly due to the Ethnic disputes that were going on in this time. Also when the Sudan Liberation Army attacked installations in Darfur this caused the Sudanese army to recruit Arab militias. Within a year from the attack thousands of people were killed and mainly due to the Arab militias that were bombing hospitals, schools and clinics. hundreds of thousands of people fled to the neighboring country chad to seek refuge while thousands of people were killed and tortured by the Militias. A ceasefire was declared in 2004 to try and stop the militias but the ceasefire failed and the ongoing Genocide Continued.

What we can do about Genocide in our World?
There are two reasons why the World has not figured out how to stop Genocides and they are
1. The world has not Developed ways to Predict and Prevent one.
2. The worlds Leaders do not have the Political will to stop It.
That has been changed. The world has already Invented Four systems that help prevent Genocides and they are centers of Early warning, Programs of conflict Transformation, Forces for Rapid Intervention, and the last one is Courts that give out International Punishments to the People who start them. These Four steps were put in place in order to stop the genocides that affect the world. These four steps are what we need to be informed about them, how we can give out punishments, Intervene with the people doing it, and also to help transform the problem around so that it will End. The world has not used these steps long but anytime there is a Genocide these steps will be there to help Predict and to Prevent Future Genocides.

The worlds reaction to the Darfur Genocide.
U.N-African peacekeepers deployed 9,000 out of the 26,000 people need to send to Sudan's war like Darfur region. This is because the U.N officials for peacekeeping complain they had a lack of helicopters to transport supplies and troops to Darfur. Richard Williamson(US presidential envoy in Darfur) is pressuring the U.N to deploy troop in Darfur with or without helicopters. The US has yet to offer support(like helicopters and troops)to help in Darfur. However the US has 500 million dollars to Darfur for its peacekeeping efforts.

The victims in Darfur are tribal black people and African farmers. However the predators in Darfur are the Janjaweed. The Janjaweed are a group of rebels/terrorists in Darfur. They are being supplied by the Sudanese government. This genocide has killed over 400,000 people and 2,500,000 have been taken as prisoners.
Ways to prevent the genocide:
There are many ways to prevent genocide. However there are really 3 major ways to prevent genocide. Those ways are:
- Sound the Alarm and Demand Action- This means that people need to stand up and tell/ask the government to make laws against genocide.
- Stop the Enablers- This means to cut off the supply line to those people that are committing genocide.
- Make human rights and genocide prevention core values in U.S. foreign policy- President Barack Obama (US President) in April 2012 announced a policy to help the US be better at preventing genocide.
